New Hermes agent update is wild. What if your AI agent could now live right on your desktop? What if it could talk back to you out loud and actually

do things? What if you could install brand new skills with one single click? And what if two of the best new AI models just dropped inside it for

free? Most people are still using Hermes the slow old way. They have no idea this update even happened.

I'm the digital avatar of Julian Goldie and I help you actually learn and use AI tools in your real work, not just watch from the sidelines. Today I'm

walking you through the brand new Hermes agent update version 0.16. They're calling it the surface release and it just changed how you use this agent

completely. Stick around because near the end I'll show you a voice setup I built that lets me talk

to my agent out loud and watch it do real tasks on my computer. First, a quick catch up in case you're new. Hermes agent is an open-source AI agent

built by Neos research. It learns from what you do and it slowly gets better the more you use it. It even builds its own skills over time. You can run

it from your computer, from a cheap little server, and you can talk to it through apps like Telegram

or Discord. It follows you wherever you work. So why do people like me actually use it? A few simple reasons. It's open-source and easy to get going.

You're not locked into one company so you can plug in almost any AI model you want. It has real memory so it remembers your past chats instead of

starting from zero every time and it keeps adding new tools through what they call skills. That last

part, the skills, is exactly what got a huge upgrade in this update. So let's get into it. The first thing you want to do is make sure you've actually

updated Hermes. This is the part people skip and then they wonder why none of the new stuff shows up for them. Here's how I do it. I go to the manage

tab for Hermes inside the dashboard, then I click on the update section and I update right from

there. That's it. Once that's done, all the new features show up. And the biggest change in this version is that Hermes now has a real desktop app,

Mac, Windows, and Linux. One-click install. No messing around in a terminal if you don't want to. You can connect it to a remote Hermes, manage your

channels like Telegram or Discord, see what it makes, and start fresh sessions all from one clean

window. There's also a new admin panel inside the dashboard where you control your chat, your skills, your models, your logs, and your scheduled tasks

in one place. Everything in one spot. Now, here's the part I'm most excited about. The skill setup got a massive glow up. Before this, finding a new

skill was kind of a guessing game. You'd see a blank box with a name and an install button. One

source, no clue if it was safe or official. So, most people just ignored the skills tab completely. Not anymore. Now, if you go into the manage

section for Hermes and open the skills area, you can browse and install skills in one single click, and it's connected to many different hubs all at

once. You've got skills.sh, which is like skill bundles. You've got Claude Hub. You've got the Claude

Marketplace. You've got GitHub. All connected right there in one view. Here's the easy way to think about it. I look at it in four simple layers.

Layer one is the catalog. You search and you preview. You actually read the skills instruction file, the skill.md, before you install it. So, no more

mystery skills. Layer two is the scan. You run a quick security scan on the skill, and it tells you if

it's worth installing or not. Layer three is the tier. Every result is color-coded, so you can instantly see if a skill is trusted, built-in, or from

the community. And layer four is the install. One click, and you're done. Let me show you what that looks like in real life. They also dropped a skill

search this update. I typed in social media, and right away it pulled up a bunch of skills I could

install that I never built myself. I just hit install on the one I wanted, and that was a one-click install from an outside source. Quick and clean.

But, I want to give you a real warning here, because nobody tells you this part. Just because you can install 100 skills doesn't mean you should. If

you stuff your agent full of skills, it can actually slow it down. It uses up more tokens, and it can

get confused about which skill to even use. So, less is more. I only keep the skills I actually use. The good news is you can search them, toggle them

off, and clean them up whenever you want. And always check a skill before you install it. The built-in scan helps a lot. It gives you a verdict, and

if something looks bad, it can block the install before it ever touches your setup. But you should

still open that skill.md file and read what the skill is actually telling your agent to do. 30 seconds of reading saves you a big headache later. The

trustiers make this even easier. Trusted skills are the safest bet. Built-in ones come with Hermes by default. Community ones can be great, but you

treat them with a little more care. The color coding means you don't have to guess anymore. You just

look. This is the part that turns the skills tab from something scary into something you'll actually open every single day. And here's why this

matters for you, not just in theory. Most people never get past the setup stage with AI agents. They install one thing, get confused, and quit. The

whole point of this update is to remove that wall. Now, once you get comfortable with skills, the next step

is putting it all together into one real system. And this is where I went deep. I built out a complete 30-day roadmap for getting a full Agent OS

setup around Hermes. What to install first, which skills to add, how to wire up your memory, your task boards, and even media generation all in one

place day by day. I'm not going to walk you through all 30 days right here because, honestly, it's a lot

to cover in one video. But here's the good news. You don't have to build that Agent OS yourself from scratch. If you want our Agent OS, we've packaged

the whole thing inside the AI Profit Boardroom, and you can grab the full zip file ready to install. You just download it, drop it in, and you're up

and running. On top of that, you get the step-by-step walk-throughs, the live coaching calls where

you can share your screen and ask why your agent is acting up, and that complete 30-day roadmap I just mentioned. So, if you're watching this

thinking, "I want to run agents like this the right way," that's exactly what's waiting for you in there right now. Okay, let's talk models because

this part is wild. Nvidia just dropped a new model called Nemotron 3 Ultra and it's available for free if you

use News Portal as your model inside Hermes. There's also a second free model in there called Step 3.7 Flash. So, if you don't want to set up your own

API keys just to get started, you don't have to. You go to your models, scroll to News Portal, and pick the free one. Quick heads-up so you're not

caught off guard later. These free models are limited-time promos, so go grab them while the window is

open. Now, here's the fun part I promised you. I set up a voice agent I call Hermes Jarvis. I can talk to it out loud and it actually does things.

This isn't just a voice chat that talks back and does nothing. It runs real tasks with Hermes. So, I said, "Hey, how's your day going?" >> Splendid as

always, sir. Just maintaining the digital infrastructure and standing by for your next command or

inquiry. >> Then I said, "Open up google.com." >> Right away, sir. Google's search interface is loading momentarily. >> Then I said, "Schedule a nap

at 3:00 p.m." >> Successfully scheduled, sir. 30 minutes of precisely calibrated rest await you at 3:00 sharp. >> And when I checked my calendar, it

was actually there. So, it's controlling my computer with my voice using the new computer skills.

That's the part that makes this feel like the future. If you want to get started yourself, it's simple. Go to the Hermes Agent site, grab the desktop

installer for your Mac or Windows, and open it. On the first launch, it sets itself up in about a minute. Then it walks you through connecting News

Portal, so you can use those free models right away. No deep tech skills needed. A few quick tips

before you go. One, update first always or you'll miss everything we just covered. Two, start with just two or three skills you actually need. Don't

go skill crazy on day one. Three, read the skill.md file and run the scan every single time. Four, try one of the free models first so you can learn

the tool without any extra setup. And five, take it slow. Give it small tasks. The more you use it,

the smarter it gets about you. That's the whole point of this agent. If you want the full process, SOPs, and 100 plus AI use cases like this one, join

the AI success lab. Link's in the comments and description. You'll get all the video notes from there, plus access to our community of 75,000 members

who are crushing it with AI. And here's the honest truth about what you're about to try. You'll get

Hermes installed, you'll get excited, and then you'll hit a wall. Maybe a skill won't behave. Maybe know which model to pick. Maybe your voice setup

won't connect on the first go. That's normal. And remember that agent OS I built? You don't have to build your own from scratch. Inside the AI Profit

Boardroom, you can grab the full agent OS zip file, ready to install, follow the 30-day roadmap

step-by-step, and lean on the coaching calls and ready-made prompts whenever you get stuck. So, if you're serious about actually using agents like
